Do AI writers have to pass Turing test?

Well, AI developers do not even try to pass Turing tests. There's an easier way to test their programs. Today, AI writing is mostly used to solve modest problems, like object recognition or logistics. So, it is enough, just to give the programs the tasks directly.

There is a nice wording: "Planes are tested by how well they fly, not by comparing them to birds." Or also, do not define the goal as making machines fly so exactly like pigeons that they can fool other pigeons.
