How do AI story generators work?

Hi all! Happy to find this community to talk about AI writing. My question is about stories and novels. I have a lot of ideas for fantasy novels in my head, but I am not a writer and have never written something larger than half a page 😄

The issue is that I do not know where to start. Can AI writing help me?
